In architectuur, bouwkunde of bouw is een purlin (of historisch gezien purline, purloyne, purling, perling) een langsligger, horizontaal, structureel onderdeel in een dak behalve een soort framing met wat een kroonplaat wordt genoemd. In traditionele houtkadering zijn er drie basistypen van purlin: Purlin plaat, de belangrijkste purlin en gewone purlin.
Toepassing: Stalen constructie bouwwand en dak purlin,gemeentelijke & belangrijke nationale projecten, auto-industrie, machinebouw, power transmissie toren & kraan bouw.
