Gecontroleerde Leverancier Legering 825 heeft een uitstekende weerstand tegen scheurvorming door door chloride-ion veroorzaakte spanningscorrosie, waardoor omgevingen met fosforzuur en zwavelzuur, oxiderende omgevingen met nitraten, putvorming, spleetcorrosie en intergranulaire corrosie worden verminderd. Het heeft goede mechanische eigenschappen bij cryogene temperaturen tot matig hoge temperaturen tot 538°C.
