Technical Description

1)  Seed production
Glucose syrup and corn syrup is put to the seed tank to adjust the DS value and pH, sterilization and cooling, then for the strain growing. The strains are with high temperature resistant and high production yield.

2) Fermentation
The glucose syrup is sent to a fermentation tank for L-malic acid carrier fermentation with Aspergillus oryzae cultured in first step. Load  83.5% of the fermentation tank, DS of fermentation broth is 19%, and the inflow and outflow volume is 24% of the loading volume, using pH electrodes and temperature electrodes to control the fermentation temperature at 35 ± 1 ºC, to achieve continuous automated fermentation of high concentration L-malic acid. 

3) Pre-filtration
The fermentation broth is fed into a belt filter to remove fermentation Aqueous, the filter cake of L-calcium malate and mycelium mixture are sent to the decomposing  process. 

4) Decomposing
The calcium malate and mycelium undergo a double decomposition reaction with a  H₂SO₄ generating a mixture of malic acid, mycelium and CaSO₄.                                   

5) Second filtration

Fed the mixture from former step into belt filter to remove mycelium and CaSO4. The clear solution is malic acid and sent to the next process, while some of the chromatography water is sent to the decomposing tank.

6) Decolorizing and Membrane filtration

After decolorize by carbon column, the clear solution of malic acid enters the membrane filtration system to remove residual mycelium, CaSO4, and other insoluble substances.

7) Ion exchange and evaporation

The clear solution of malic acid to through Ion exchange system to remove impurities. Then enter the concentrating device to condense.

8) Crystallization
The concentrated malic acid solution enters a low-temperature crystallizing reactor for 10-12 hours. L-malic acid crystals are separated by centrifugation and sent to the drying section. The mother liquor is returned to the separation section.

9)  Drying & sieving
The wet product is sent to dryer to get the dried product, then go packed and send to storage.
