Platte TPS-kabel wordt  gebruikt voor algemene bedrading, niet-ingesloten, ingesloten in buis, begraven direct of in ondergrondse leidingen voor binnenlandse, commerciële en industriële toepassingen, die niet onderhevig waren aan mechanische schade. In het algemeen wordt de platte TPS-kabel vaker gebruikt dan de ronde TPS-kabel.
