Beschrijving.

De legering is gebruikt in 'niet-standaard' thermokoppels, elektrische contacten en voor elektroden in medisch onderzoek. De legering is harder en mechanisch sterker dan Platinum.

 

Deze draad heeft een 90% Platinum en 10% Iridium samenstelling en wordt veel gebruikt bij de assemblage van micro-elektrodesondes. Iridium, een Platinum-groep metaal, is zeer dicht en hard, waardoor extra kracht aan de draad wordt toegevoegd.
