Function
Surfactin is a cyclic lipopeptide biosurfactant that can serve as an antimicrobial adjuvant with antibacterial, antifungal, anti mycoplasma, and hemolytic effects. Surfactin also has antiviral activity against various envelope viruses.

Application
Surfactin has surface activity and can maintain its original surface tension even at high concentrations of sodium chloride. It is an excellent emulsifier and foam stabilizer, and can be used as a preservative. It has better effects when used in conjunction with other antibacterial agents.
