A tungsten alloy collimator is a device that reduces particle beams or light waves. Reduction means that the particle rays are directed in a specific direction, allowing only rays parallel to the collimator to pass through, or a device that narrows the spatial cross-section beam to limit the amount of rays.
Tungsten alloy collimator is a component of the radiation head of medical accelerators. In addition to using primary and secondary collimators, the collimation of electronic radiation is equipped with electron beam limiters below the radiation head. Its main function is to limit the range of electronic radiation, in order to protect normal tissues outside the target area and protect critical organs from irradiation.
