Toepassing/gebruik	Selectief contact herbicide, voornamelijk geabsorbeerd door het gebladerte, met zeer weinig translocatie, maar ook geabsorbeerd door de wortels, met translocatie acropetaal in het xyleem.  Gebruikt EEN contactherbicide dat Anthemis, Chamomilla en Matricaria spp., Chrysanthetum segetum, Galium aparine, Lapsana communis en Stellaria media controleert in de winter en de lente granen, bij 1.0-2.2 kg/ha. Andere gewassen zijn pinda's, maïs, erwten, phaseolus-bonen en rijst (Cyperus difformis, C. esculentus, C. serotinus, Monochoria vaginalis, Sagittaria pygmaea, S. sagittifolia, Alisma en Commelina spp., Scirpus maritimus en S. mucronatus) en sojabonen (Abutilon theophrasti, Capsella bursa-pastoris, Cyperus esculentus, Datura stramonium, Helianthus spp., Polygonum spp., Portulaca spp., Sida spinosa, Ambrosia spp., Sinapis arvensis en Xanthium spp.).
ECOTOXICOLOGIE	Vogels Acute oraal LD50 voor bobwhite kwartel 1140 mg/kg. LC50 voor bobwhite kwartels en wilde eenden >5000 ppm.  Vis LC50 (96 uur) voor regenboogforel en blauwgill zonnevis >100 mg/l.  Daphnia LC50 (48 u) 125 mg/l.  Algen EC50 (72 uur) voor groene algen (Ankistrodesmus) 47.3 mg/l.  Bijen niet giftig voor bijen; LD50 (oraal) >100 mg/bij.  Wormen EC50 (14 d) >1000 mg/kg grond.

Bentazone actiewijze selectief contact herbicide, voornamelijk geabsorbeerd door het gebladerte, met zeer weinig translocatie, maar ook geabsorbeerd door de wortels, met translocatie acropetaal in het xyleem.
