Toepassing

Glasvezelgarens worden vaak gebruikt als versterkingsmateriaal in diverse industrieën, waaronder de bouw, de auto-industrie, de ruimtevaart en de scheepvaart.  
1. Glasvezel garens hebben een hoge treksterkte, waardoor zij versterking en structurele integriteit aan composietmaterialen kunnen bieden.
2. Ondanks hun sterkte zijn de garens van glasvezel licht, waardoor ze geschikt zijn voor toepassingen waar gewichtsvermindering gewenst is.
3. Glasvezelgarens hebben een uitstekende hittebestendigheid, waardoor ze geschikt zijn voor toepassingen waar hoge temperatuurbestendigheid vereist is, zoals isolatiematerialen of beschermende kleding.
4. Vanwege hun niet-geleidende eigenschappen worden glasvezelgarens gebruikt in elektrische isolatietoepassingen, ook als kernmateriaal in elektrische kabels en bedrading.
5. Iberglassgarens kunnen worden gecombineerd met verschillende harsen en matrices om composietmaterialen met specifieke eigenschappen te creëren, zoals met glasvezel versterkte kunststoffen (FRP) of met glasvezel versterkt beton (FRC).
6. Glasvezel garens kunnen worden geweven of tot stoffen worden gebreid voor toepassingen zoals versterking in composieten, isolatiedekens of beschermende kleding.
