TYPE K (CHROMEL VS ALUMEL) wordt gebruikt in oxiderende, inerte of droge reducerende atmosferen. Blootstelling aan vacuüm beperkt tot korte perioden. Moeten worden beschermd tegen zwavelhoudende en licht oxiderende atmosferen. Betrouwbaar en nauwkeurig bij hoge temperaturen.
