PVC Flat Core met een dikte van 5 mm is populair voor boten. 60kg/m3 en 80kg/m3 zijn populaire dichtheid. PVC-schuim is een kruisgeweven stijf structureel PVC-schuimmateriaal, als schuim met dichte cellen, gebaseerd op vinyl polymeer, aangepast met de gehele aramiden verbinding. Het is het samengestelde chemische materiaal gebaseerd op PVC en PUR. Het wordt in de internationale praktijk de cross-linked PVC schuimkern genoemd. Het kan worden gebruikt als kernmateriaal in de sandwichstructuur.
